My Ilocos Trip

Before November ended, I went to the Northern part of the Philippines together with my travelmates. We stopped for one day in Manila and took another flight bound for Laoag in the afternoon. We visited so many places that I can't even remember all their names. >_<

So I'll be sharing some of my photos and hopefully, I will be able to caption them correctly. :D

La Paz Sand Dunes

Cape Bojeador Lighthouse

Patapat Viaduct
Kapurpurawan Rock Formation
Bangui Windmills
Agua Grande
Pagudpud (We stayed one night here and enjoyed the overwhelming waves ^_^)
Paoay Church
MalacaƱang of the North
Juan Luna Museum
Kalesa ride in Vigan
Kalye Crisologo

We also passed by Subic to see the beautiful animals in Zoobic Safari before we went home via Clark International Airport

Zoobic Safari

This is by far my longest and most enjoyable travel adventure. I had a lot of fun! Until my next trip then! :)

MG 1/100 Wing Gundam and Wing Gundam Zero Custom

So finally, after a few months, the fixes for my sister's MG 1/100 Wing Gundam and the assembly of my MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Zero Custom are done. The details are amazing! I am very happy to see them look really good. Thanks to my modeller friend Kristoffer-san for a job well done!

Here are some of the pics I took when I prepared them for display:

Yeah, so I attempted my Wing Zero to follow the pose in the picture.

Skuld in ARCHCon X

Last October 26, 2013, I attended ARCHCon X. It was the 10th anniversary of the event, thus the "X". The first time I attended ARCHCon was last 2007, when it was still a very small hobby event held in a school's gymnasium. I went there years ago together with my fellow Otaku Fest organizers as part of observing on how such event is done. It was somehow the benchmark we followed to create Otaku Fest. Since then, I've been attending the event when I wasn't busy.

Luckily, because my Saturdays are day offs already (hooray for regular normal shift!), I can now attend cosplay events. I went to ARCHCon X as Skuld from the anime series, Ah! My Goddess. If you noticed, I've been wearing my past costumes. I want to wear my old costumes because I want to improve them. I know my cosplays back then were not good and lacked details. I also don't want to spend a lot of money for new costumes since I earn less now compared from my previous job. So yeah, I finally had the opportunity to improve my Skuld cosplay. I had my accessories and wand done by Project One. For the first time, I did a successful ahoge to my wig and did a few styling to mimic Skuld's hair. The wig was originally a full bangs wig with shoulder length layers. I did my make up and my sister drew the blue orb on my forehead. Supposedly, there should be blue orbs above my cheeks but my sister was too afraid to put some so I agreed not to put those.

Refer to the pictures below for my Skuld cosplay last ARCHCon X:

Photos were taken by my sister.

Pretty much, I was able to pull off my Skuld cosplay this time. Every time I do a cosplay, I prepare as much as I can and pray to God that I can successfully do my cosplay on the event. The power of prayer has never disappointed me. It's somehow my main source of energy everyday, in everything I do.

Anyway, if you have questions regarding my cosplays or anything you might want to know more about cosplays or just want to send out a reaction, hit a comment below and I'll be willing to answer as best as I can.

Until my next cosplay then!

PS. I feel I'm getting old already so I need to cosplay more as much as I can. ;)

When Earthquake Strikes

Early morning of October 15, 2013, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake shook the grounds of our province. I was half asleep when it happened. I was in bed when suddenly, my closet was shaking and the glass of my cabinet was vibrating loudly (it's like it's going to break). I was like, "Is this a dream? Maybe this will just end.", so I did not get up right away but it seems the quake didn't stop and that's when I tried to call my mom. I was shouting like a child and I heard no response from my mom. Fortunately, my sister who was already outside our house, heard my screams and went back to wake me up on my senses and instructed me to get outside of the house immediately. I felt like I was going to break down and cry because of the strong shaking, thinking that our house might collapse anytime now. The strong shaking ended but numerous aftershocks were felt. I felt like my head is spinning and it gave me a headache.

The first thing I checked when I went inside my room after the earthquake was my figure collection. This is how my collection looked liked after the quake:
My C.C. Chibi Arts stumbled to the side, my nendoroids were like doing a harlem shake, my Itachi figure is now leaning towards Shinobu, the Exia looks like it lost its pose and is trying to strike Asuka, Naruto is down with my Timex watch, Hanekawa's shiro cat jumped off from her head, (not seen in picture) Rob's drumset was scattered, and (not seen in picture) Saber's Excalibur was detached.
For now, I removed those figures without stands because they tend to wobble easily which causes my other figures to be unsteady. I placed Hanekawa's cats below her so they wouldn't drop and I did not return Saber's Excalibur yet.

Because it happened on a weekday, I thought that I still need to go to work. When I was on my way to the office, a heavy rain occurred. Great. I arrived in the company's gates, wet from rain, just to be informed that there will be no work. Argh. No one informed me! I received a message from my officemate but it was too late. I was like, "This is the unluckiest day ever!"

Aftershocks are still happening until now. My headache isn't getting any better. I feel like the ground isn't stopping from shaking. This is by far the worst earthquake I have ever experienced.

Gothic Lolita Photoshoot

Last Saturday, I went to a photoshoot. This was my first photoshoot experience where I was the only model. It was fun and exciting, considering that the theme is Gothic Lolita in a cemetery location. I love lolita fashion and yep, you read that right, the photoshoot took in a cemetery location. It's kind of scary to think but as long as I'm not alone, I won't be scared. My college friend Wena, who has a great talent in photography, has organized the photoshoot and invited my other college friend Daisy and also her two colleagues at work as photographers so there were a total of four photographers.

The costume I wore was my first ever costume when I started cosplaying. I wore it first five years ago in the first UP Otaku Fest. For the photoshoot, I decided to make some adjustments and enhancements on the costume. I had my seamstress fit the costume to me properly as it was initially loose, so that it would show more curves on my body. I also matched the costume with a pair of black gloves and wore a lolita hat instead of a maid headdress. For the accessories, I used a gold heart-shaped necklace (I used a silver one last time and because it was way back years ago already, I can't find it anymore), matching it with gold ring and earrings with black stones.

The photos turned out really good. I'm really glad I modeled for this photoshoot. Here are some of the photos, credits are watermarked/captioned accordingly:

We had an eerie experience at this location of the photo because Wena's camera suddenly hanged up and so she decided to take a break at this point. >_<

I really enjoyed the photoshoot. I was kind of guilty when I arrived late all because my fake eyelashes didn't stick right away. I will make sure to prepare more on the next photoshoot. Thank you very much to my wonderful photographer friends! ^_^

PS. To all the graves we bothered for the photoshoot, we are very sorry for the disturbance we have caused. >_<

I want a Bokura ga Ita Season 2

I've posted last year about how I was a fan of Bokura ga Ita. The live-action movie did a lot of changes to somehow make the story a little different but I think the changes didn't actually made a big difference and the story was just similar to the whole plot of Bokura ga Ita and it ended the story just as how the manga was ended.

Takahashi Nanami and Yano Motoharu in Bokura ga Ita anime

Now, my utmost request is for a Bokura ga Ita anime second season because I want to have the anime to have an ending. If only studio ArtLand will pick this up again and do the second season, then I will be at peace. They can actually follow the manga since the live-action movie was short and  like I said, there were a lot of changes made to fit into the movie size and to have some unexpected scenes.

I want to see Takahashi and Yano again. I want to hear their surreal soundtracks again. I've been listening to their theme songs until now which were compiled in Bokura ga Ita Vocal Album: Eien CD. I've been dying to buy a physical album but it's already sold out when I discovered about the album and my only hope is to purchase a pre-owned one in Amazon Japan which cost a lot already. If only the Japanese band Mi will reunite and do some Bokura ga Ita songs again. I want to hear the piano of Ootsu Miki again. I want to hear Sasaki Nozomi sing some of the theme songs again. I want to listen to Katou Izumi's calm voice in her songs again. Ahh, I feel really nostalgic thinking about Bokura ga Ita.

I miss Bokura ga Ita. I want the anime to have a conclusion. I want a second season of Bokura ga Ita. I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this way. I will forever be haunted by the bittersweet feeling that the anime has left me. Some famous anime were reanimated and some were remastered but I only want a second season. Is it too much to ask for? As long as there is no second season, I will not be in peace. T^T

Beware of PLDT Postpaid SIM Offers

Ok, I am very frustrated right now, right this very moment. The reason is because of PLDT.

It started when some sales agent called our house. My mom answered first and because it was something related to PLDT, she passed the call to me and mentioned something about that PLDT is giving us something since we have been a very good subscriber, etc. So I took the call and the sales agent said that they will be sending us a PLDT SIM that we can use as a wireless landline and specified that it's for free. Yes, they said it was free. I ask and verified if it was really for free, that I wouldn't be paying anything and the agent said yes, it's totally free. So I accepted because it was free.

So the SIM arrived like two weeks ago. The package of the SIM was "PLDT Postpaid SIM" which means it was a postpaid SIM! I googled about it and there isn't much information about it but I read somewhere in my searches that I had to pay P250 every month for the service. Imagine my reaction when I realized that I had to pay for a monthly service. I immediately contacted the customer service representative (CSR) and asked about the SIM and google was correct, I had to pay P250 for the SIM's monthly service!! I then told the CSR that I want to cancel the subscription and the CSR said that the subscription is not yet active so I could just ignore the SIM and not use it. I don't even know if I can use that SIM. I thought it was all good. Because I was still in doubt about on whether the subscription was not really active, I called again after five days and the CSR said the subscription was activated a day before. Arghh! I was really mad! I already called and asked for cancellation and now, instead of cancellation, it was activated!! It gave me a lot of stress! The CSR suggested that I should go to a nearest PLDT branch and have it cancelled there. I went there a while ago and they asked for a request letter for cancellation and an ID. Come on, can't you even tell your CSR instead about the requirements so that I wouldn't be coming back to the PLDT office? Moreover, our PLDT account is not under my name but is under the name of my brother who lives far from our place. Arghh! I need to have my brother sign the damn request letter and have his ID!! This is insane! I am now the one suffering because of this misleading sales talk. If ever they will charge me with fees regarding this damn Postpaid SIM service, I will surely not pay and this might let me trigger to terminate our PLDT account.

Update: On my second visit in the branch, a very kind and understanding supervisor of PLDT helped me with my problem and she worked my cancellation of my PLDT Postpaid SIM. The next month, all was good! I didn't have to pay the lock-in fee and I was reimbursed with my previous payment. Many thanks to that supervisor!! :D

Archer and Saber Banpresto Figures

As you may not know (but it's not questionable since I'm an anime fan after all ;p), I'm quite a fan of Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero. When I was in college, a friend of mine recommended Fate/Stay Night to me and I was really hooked into it. Just last 2011 and 2012, Fate/Zero was released as a prequel to Fate/Stay Night and again, I became obsessed with the series. My sister and I were pretty much attracted to Gilgamesh, the archer class servant in Fate/Zero. Now I understand why his character was mysterious in Fate/Stay Night. Fate/Zero answered my questions about Gilgamesh. You better watch the series if you want to know what I mean because it would be complicated and long to discuss it further here. Anyway, I just want to show my Archer (Gilgamesh) and Saber figures from Banpresto. I only intended to buy Gilgamesh but then there was a discount at the online store where I bought him so I tagged along Saber. Well, I'm an Archer X Saber shipper anyway so I think they will really look good on my collection. Here are some of the photos on the figures:

Saber and Archer

Archer aka Gilgamesh

Saber

I know they are not of high quality as other figures because I read somewhere that they were made as game prizes which are assumed to be not really that good but I still liked the details of the figures. I want to complete the rest of the servant figures but it seems it's kind of rare to find them. I saw some in Amazon Japan but I guess I'll wait until I have enough money. :)

My C.C. Cosplay for TORCH 4

I have already worn my C.C. lolita costume twice already, last Otaku Fest 2009 and HobCon 2010 and I always wanted to improve it so I decided to wear it again this year for TORCH. It's been a while since my last cosplay. I wasn't able to attend our local Comicon because I had an important wedding to attend and somehow, I felt bored, tired, and weak if I can't cosplay in a long time. It's a hobby of mine that really boost my self-esteem.

I am quite happy because I have a lot of very good shots,  taken by my awesome friends. Here are a few of them:

Here are the things that I improved in this cosplay:
- I bought the right wig (I bought it last year and finally, I was able to wear it. I cut the bangs myself because they were too long. The cut wasn't really that good but at least it isn't that bad either.)
- I wore a 15mm brown contact lens (C.C.'s eyes are hazel to yellow but it was kinda difficult to find that color so I chose a brown lens that is near to hazel in color)
- For the first time in my cosplay career, I wore fake eyelashes (I'm not sure why I didn't think of wearing them before but it really does add charm and emphasis to the eyes)
- Improved make-up (Yeah, I suck at make-up but I'm proud that I've improved. I did my make-up all by myself.)
- I brought a gun as props (C.C. was holding a gun when she wore this costume)
- I also bought cheese-kun, the yellow stuffed toy you see in the pic above (I just planned to collect him and display him in my bed but I decided to tag him along :3)

I'm very happy on the outcome of this cosplay. I see a lot of improvements in me and I want to continue improving. I thank God for this opportunity to cosplay and I thank my friends for supporting me. Usually, I dress up at home and have my sister drive me to the event location but this time, my sister wasn't able to accompany me because she went out of town. I did my make up at home and carried my costume, accessories, and props in a huge travelling bag (cheese-kun takes a lot of space, fyi). Luckily, I have a few amazing friends who helped and joined me in the event so no worries at all.

Until my next cosplay then. My new motto: "Keep improving!" :)

My Linkin Park Experience!

I have been a fan of Linkin Park since first year high school. I got interested on their songs when my classmate was playing their songs via a cassette tape. Because I became so attached to their songs in Hybrid Theory album, I had my classmate write the lyrics for me and had them memorized. Yes, I memorized all of their Hybrid Theory songs! Because I was still in high school back then, I can only buy a pirated Hybrid Theory CD (sorry LP for doing this but I bought an original one when I had the money so don’t worry ;p) and had it played almost every weekend, when I was at home, so that really helped me memorized their songs. The song that I was really hooked up to was “In The End”. It is by far my most favourite LP song.  “In The End” was always number one in music channels when its music video came out.  I believe it became their most recognized song. Then came their other albums such as Reanimation, Meteora, Minutes to Midgnight, A Thousand Suns, and Living Things. Meteora was very similar to Hybrid Theory. Minutes to Midgnight and A Thousand Suns were a change from their composing style from hardcore rap and rock metal, to mellow rock and more electronic sounds, which I still consider really good and awesome. Living Things is their current album which I think it features the combination of their past albums. I bought their original albums when I started working, which is like, 10 years after I became their fan. :D

My collection of LP albums

If you also notice on my previous posts, as soon as I discovered about Linkin Park’s nendoroid set, I bought it immediately online and it became my first nendoroid on my collection.

My Linkin Park nendoroid set

Their first concert here in our country, the Philippines, was last 2004, and I’m still like in my senior year in high school, so I couldn’t afford to be in their concert, plus, it will be held in the capital city, in Manila, which will need me to take a plane just to be there.
After nine years (this year 2013), it was announced that they will be coming back for a concert in our country and I was like, “I SHOULD NOT MISS THIS!!!” Together with my sister who is also a fan of LP, we decided to go for the Standing VIP tickets (more like the mosh pit tickets) because it’s the closest to the stage and we want to see them up close. We bought our tickets on the first day of selling because we were scared that the tickets will get sold out.  I was also ecstatic when it was announce that Urbandub will do the front act, I mean, they are from the queen city of the south, my hometown, and I’m really proud of them.

The day came, August 13, 2013, and we arrived around 6am in Manila. We lined up early to get a good mosh pit position and to see LP closer and so we did. Urbandub did the opening and they were really great! I made a banner that says “URBANDUD Proud Cebuano”, and I can see that all of them saw it and smiled at me! I was really happy that I was able to express my support to them. Then after them was Linkin Park! I cannot contain my feelings. Finally, after my 12 years and still counting LP fascination, I was able to see them performing live. I screamed and sang along with all their songs! I can’t believe I know all the songs they were playing! Probably my most favourite performance was when they did a medley for “Leave Out All The Rest”, “Shadow of the Day”, and “Iridescent”.  It was freakin’ awesome! Mike Shinoda started with the piano, then with Chester's vocals, then Rob on the drums, then the guitars of Brad, until the disk scratching of Mr. Hahn and Phoenix' bass along with Chester in guitars as well. The audience did a little fan project by raising and lighting up their phones on this performance though I only saw it on pictures and fancams as I was really busy concentrating on their performance. It was pretty cool! If you ask who my favourite member of them is, it is none other than the genius Mike Shinoda. I love him ever since I became their fan and to see him up close in person, is a dream come true. I can’t believe they still look the same as when they started, well maybe a little different, especially Mr. Hahn gaining a little weight, but the rest of them still look young, fresh, and healthy. Looking at them, I’m still amazed as how they were able to maintain their line up for many years already. Mike Shinoda was really handsome, I can’t stop staring at him! xD My sister was able to touch Chester when Chester got close to our section. I just almost did. xD Also, Mike went to the crowd when they sang “In The End”, ahh such lucky fans who were able to touch Mike and see him closer. I also made a banner with “CEBU Linkin Park” written and Mike smiled when he saw it. xD Chester also said we were the best crowd on their current tour so far, well most likely because we sing along with their songs and we know their songs by heart. This is what I really love about Filipino crowd. :D

I will be posting my pics and videos pretty soon so check out this post for updates. It’s almost all blurry and shaky because it was a rock concert and I was on the mosh pit. xD

I lost my voice after the concert but thankfully it came back the next day. We only slept for two hours after the concert as we need to catch our flight the next day and head back to work at 7:30am. I was very tired and my body aches but I still need to work. After my shift, I went home and immediately fell asleep. I want to write this asap while my memory of the concert is still fresh. xD

So many sacrifices I did just for this concert. The money I bought for the ticket was supposedly for my Super Junior concert but I contemplated and realized that since I have seen Super Junior twice already, it would be wise to use the money for Linkin Park concert instead and I didn’t regret at all. I had a stomach gas attack on the concert day but I was able endure it and forgot about it when the concert started. This is probably the best concert experience I had! Thank you Linkin Park for coming back to Philippines! Thank you to all the people who made the concert possible. Thank you Lord for giving me the opportunity to see them! I do hope I can do a meet and greet with them next time but for now, seeing them performing live, is more than enough for me. Until then, I will wait for their next concert here and I will watch again if I will still be given the chance. If I have more money, I will register to LPU, I’ve been meaning to be part of that official fan club. Linkin Park, you will always be my most favourite rock band. I love you! Mahal ko kayo! Gihigugma ko kamo! ^___^ \m/

Not Your Ordinay Magical Girl Anime

I'm a fan of some magical girl anime series especially Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon actually had me started liking Japanese animations in particular. I even thought of being an animator or character designer and design my own similar heroines. I had some rough sketches before. After watching different genres of anime for more than 15 years I think, I decided to watch something similar to the the usual magical girl theme anime and I chose Puella Magi Madoka Magica, or so I thought.

While watching the first episode, I noticed that the animation was unique well, most likely because SHAFT did the animation, and that there wasn't any humors or jokes from the characters. The whole story was very serious, dramatic, and tragic. I didn't expect it to be like that. I was unaware of the "tragedy" genre tagged with the series. At some point of the story, I even cried. It was the part where Sayaka (one of Madoka's close friend) wished that Kamijou's hand will be healed so he can play the violin again and in exchange, she became a magical girl with an empty soul. What struck me the most and made me break down is when Sayaka's friend (I can't remember her name because she was too annoying for me), confessed to Kamijou after he was healed and went back to school and it looks like they ended up together. It was pretty obvious that Sayaka was in love with Kamijou and I can feel the pain Sayaka felt when that happened. Sayaka even saved that annoying friend of hers from dying and yet this was like she had in return? Sacrificing her life for her crush and saving the life of her friend and yet this was what she had to get? Sayaka was with Kamijou when he was in his worst state. I mean, it was very unfair! It was too much that I cried. I cried because my heart felt heavy.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is not your typical shoujo, magical girl, fantasy anime. It uses psychological and dramatic concepts to bring out a serious story line that outshines all other magical girl anime. It uses abstracts and symbols to give life to emotions. Simply, it was really good on its own way.

The soundtracks are amazing as well. It's not questionable at all because the composer is none other than the genius, Yuki Kajiura. The ending song which was performed by Kalafina is very ppowerful and emphasizes the overall theme of the anime.

In conclusion, I liked Puella Magi Madoka Magica because it was refreshing and it gave a lot of lessons about life, that you should be careful what you wish before and learn to be contented and happy. I highly recommend this anime to anyone :3

Gundam Seed and My Love for AsuCaga

I recently finished rewatching the entire 50 episodes of Gundam Seed and I was again reminded on how good the story of Gundam Seed was. Then I watched the four special edition films of Gundam Seed Destiny. I couldn’t bear to watch again the entire Destiny series simply because I felt like the story could have been done better (well maybe I’ll watch the remastered if I have the time^^).  And all of a sudden, my Gundam Seed fascination is back.

It was maybe around eight years ago that I watched Gundam Seed on TV. My sister and I were really hooked with the series. And guess who my most favorite character was; it’s none other than the ace pilot of ZAFT, Athrun Zala. He belongs to my fave anime boys list mainly because he has the qualities of my ideal guy. His love interest at first was Lacus Clyne and I really thought they were really meant to be but then came Athrun’s real love interest, the princess of ORB, Cagalli Yula Atha. Well, I wasn’t that much bothered on the change of the partners but when Athrun and Cagalli started to have romantic feelings for each other, I wanted them to be together forever. Their relationship was  left behind in Gundam Seed Destiny, I’m not sure why they did that. Nevertheless, the extra ending shown in the Special Edition films proved that Athrun chose to be in ORB which I’m very positive that it means he stayed with Cagalli. Isn’t that hard to understand the meaning of that ending? I’m sorry to say this but screw you all who are shipping Athrun and Meyrin! I’ve been dying to say that..haha :D Meyrin doesn’t stand a chance I tell you, that is, if no one messes up the story. Yeah, well the point is, I’m a huge Athrun fan and an AsuCaga fan.

If you’re wondering why I started my Gundam Seed replay marathon, well it’s because I bought this 1/8 scale figure of Athrun from amiami at a very low price (I felt very lucky to buy it really cheap!) and when I received the figure, I felt nostalgic and I suddenly missed Athrun.

1/8 RAH.DX Athrun Zala

I’m planning to collect the master grades of Athrun and Kira’s mobile suits namely, Infinite Justice and Strike Freedom, respectively. When I was searching for online stores and prices, it turns out that Gundam Seed gunplas are more expensive than the Gundam Wing gunplas. This needs a lot of saving. ;A;

Anyway, yeah, I miss Gundam Seed, I miss Athrun and Cagalli. I’m really hoping and wishing that the Gundam Seed movie which was announced a long time ago will be back in production and this time, they will provide a proper ending for Athrun and Cagalli.

My Gundam Feels are Back

I’ve been a fan of Gundam because of Gundam Wing. That was 15 years ago. My sister and I were very much addicted with the anime series. At our mere young age, we were able to appreciate the unique mecha story line of Gundam Wing. My favourite mobile suit was the Gundam Zero Wing mainly because of its astounding designs with the wings (the wings were redesigned in Endless Waltz which I just noticed when I watch the anime again recently and they were superb) and the superiority of it among the other Gundams because of the installed Zero system on it. My favourite Gundam pilot was Quatre Raberba Winner, most probably because I’m attracted to guys that are intelligent, those that can play instruments (from the anime, Quatre played the violin and piano but I think he can play more instruments), calm, and has the good-boy personality. My favourite couple was Heero and Relena (obviously) because they are just perfect for each other and are similar in many ways.
We have watched the old Gundam series, from Char’s Attack, War in the Pocket, etc. I can’t remember the titles of the other old Gundam series and the stories perhaps because I watched Gundam Wing first and it became my benchmark for a very good Gundam series.
When Gundam Seed was aired on TV, which was like eight years ago, my sister and I were hooked up with another Gundam series. But in my opinion, it did not surpass Gundam Wing but I still liked it.

When Gundam 00 was out, I wasn’t able to watch the series or I think I watched a couple of episodes but it did not make a big impression on me though I have downloaded the first season. My sister watched it and I think she liked it too. Hopefully, I can watch the entire series one of these days so that at least I can appreciate its positive aspects. I am not very much updated with the latest Gundam series but I think the latest one as of today is Gundam AGE (correct me if am wrong) and I read some positive feedback. I’ll have it added on my watch-later list.

Recently, I started watching again Gundam Wing, just to let me recall the story and to see if my perspective will change after 15 years. Still, it was by far the best Gundam series for me.  The plot, the charactes, the drama, the soundtracks and even the Gundam designs were no match to the other Gundam series. It’s the only series where I can determine which Gundam is which because the designs were unique and easy to identify. The animation may not be at par with the latest Gundam series apparently because it’s an old school anime (from 1995 to be exact) but still, it was well animated given it was almost 20 years ago. It was absolutely a masterpiece. I feel very lucky to have Gundam Wing as part of my childhood.

Because my Gundam Wing memories were refreshed, I am now very tempted to collect all the Master Grade (MG) kits of all Gundam Wing mobile suits, especially the Wing Zero and the other five leading Gundams. I know they are costly but I will do my best to buy them. I will probably start with Wing Zero because it’s my favourite. Now my problem is that I have no experience in assembling a Gunpla (this is the term used for those Gundam model kits). My sister bought a Wing Gundam (Heero’s first Gundam and was referred as Gundam 01 in the anime series) a couple of years ago and she had it assembled for free.

Here a couple of photos of my sister's gunplas:
MG Wing Gundam

EG Gundam Exia

Unfortunately, my sister said she recently went back to the store and there was no Wing Zero there. So I went to another hobby store and there I found a Wing Zero at almost 3000PHP (around 68 USD) however, when I asked if they assemble Gundams, they said yes but it would be price of the kit times two. I was very disappointed. You can just imagine my shocked face. I told them that assembly is free on another store; it’s just that the kit I was looking for wasn’t there. But it was useless to argue so I decided I will buy online since it’s like 50% cheaper and I’ll just assemble the kit myself. Hopefully, I can successfully assemble the kit. It would be very challenging. I’ve been trying to communicate with some members of a Gunpla community near our place. They were very friendly. :)

My sister is in Japan right now and I’m sure she’s buying some Gundam items there. Well, we grew up with Gundam Wing and it must have a very special place in our hearts.

Until my next Gundam post! I’ll probably show you some WIP on my future Gunpla assemblies. XD
